Darryl Thomson (DLT), (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Tuwharetoa)
Darryl DLT Thomson was a pioneer of hip hop and graffitti in Aotearoa producing music and street art since the early 80s. Darryl resides in Heretaunga and tutored under Sandy Adsett at Toimairangi where he studied Modernists such as Picasso to breathe new life in Maori contemporary art.
Darryl ‘s work explores the experience and struggles of amodern Māori male singularly and collectively. Current works depict struggles, comment on life, joy and inspiration for the coming generations through a the lens of a Maori Male.
