Jim Mitchell
Jim Mitchell was born and raised in Murapara then Kawerau in New Zealand before moving to Wellington to study art. After studies Jim Mitchell travelled to Australia to work as a freelance illustrator in advertising, editorial, publishing and animation and never left. Jim arrived at Mambo in 1990 and remained a major contributor up to 2003 when he left to lay the foundations for his own surf label, The Critical Slide Society. After 40 years working away in the surf industry, Jim has returned home to Aotearoa where he continues to make art.
