Jimmy James Kouratoras

Jimmy James Kouratoras is a contemporary visual artist from Aotearoa, New Zealand whose work has been lauded internationally. His work is in private collections across the globe from LA to Singapore, London to Toronto. Using Indigenous methodologies and practices, such as Māori karakia (prayer) and (medicine) Jimmy moves beyond the signs and symbols of identity, connecting to those who have guided him in the healing power of these practices. His work is a remarkable weaving of timelines, there is an identifiable playfulness in different realms and an ongoing invitation to connect more deeply with oneself.
