Julie Mello is a post-impressionist painter based near Napier. She often paints from life, in the hills and on the beaches in Hawke's Bay, and then creates paintings in the studio from the outdoor works.

She paints mostly in oils and uses a variety of implements, from brushes and palette knives to various paint scraper to her hands.

Her works can be found in New Zealand and Australia, North America, the UK and the Middle East.
