Ottmar Hörl

Ottmar Hörl is a popular living German artist & professor of sculpture. He was born in 1950 in Nauheim and lives in Wertheim near Frankfurt am Main. Since 2005 he has been chairman of the Academy of Visual Arts in Nürneberg. He became world famous with his collection of garden gnomes including the 'Sponti' and 'Poisoned' gnome. His most famous work, however, is the giant Euro symbol in front of the building of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt.
