Te Maiharoa was a nineteenth century Maori prophet who lived in Te Waipounamu. Many miracles were attributed to him. One story is told of how a baby disappeared while his mother was fetching water. Te Maiharoa prayed and a cloud came toward the woman. She then jumped and took the baby from it.
