Kirk Nicholls was raised in Auckland and Dunedin in an artistic family. He started his career as a film and television sculptor and model maker in Australia and New Zealand, and honed his skills as a sculptor while living in Japan. For the last fifteen years Kirk has been living in Whanganui and working as a full time artist. He works in a range of disciplines from painted wall reliefs to 3D sculpture using recycled plastic.
Boyd-Dunlop Gallery consists of three gallery spaces in downtown Napier featuring regular rotating exhibitions, showcasing a range of artists from across Aotearoa. We aim to inspire and give locals and visitors a chance to experience high quality contemporary art from across the motu equivalent to anything seen in the main centres and overseas.
